What we're all about

The St. Louis DotNetNuke User Group meets each month in Creve Coeur to discuss DotNetNuke. We are a group that uses DotNetNuke both personally and professionally.  Our members consist of both experienced experts and those who are new to the framework. Our members are diverse; they include developers, designers, skinners, administrators, and implementation specialists.

We welcome anyone that is using or is interested in using the DotNetNuke framework. Our presentation topics reflect the diversity of our group, and we make sure to include time for DotNetNuke community news and announcements, so each meeting will have something for everyone.

If you're interested in getting together with a group of people to learn about DotNetNuke, please register on the site to receive our e-mail newsletter and then RSVP for the next meeting!

Presentation Topic: Secure Module Development: Threat Modeling, Code Review, and Static Analysis

Speaker: Brandon Haynes

Description: Although virtually all DotNetNuke developers appreciate the importance of creating secure modules, relatively few such developers are familiar with the techniques and processes that may be used to effectuate this end. In this session, we discuss some common approaches to threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, and code review. We examine the tradeoffs between manual and automated analysis, and touch on some common static analysis tools. These concepts are applied to DotNetNuke module development through a number of collaborative review exercises.

About our Speaker: Brandon Haynes is a member of the DotNetNuke core team, and serves primarily by providing security-related and organizational guidance. He is the chief executive officer at Everysport.net Inc., which delivers enterprise resource planning, web-presence, e-commerce, and integration-related functionality to recreational organizations. With more than twenty years of experience in software development, Brandon’s professional interests are currently focused on the nexus between intellectual property law, technology, and business. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree at Harvard University.
